A Government Student Loan Can Make the Difference
Some countries have established a student loan program. The loan is given to students to continue their studies at colleges or universities. It is different from Social Security and Medicare in which people pay tax and receive the care later in life. The student loan is received by students early in their lives. The loan must be repaid 6 months after a student graduates from college or university. The program is also different from the student grant. The grant, of course, is a present. Students do not need to repay it. It is usually granted to students with high achievements.
The government may subsidize or not subsidize the loan. If the government subsidises it, the interest on the loan is paid by the government. In this case, the students apply for the loan to a local or national bank. Then they submit a subsidy request to the district education bureau. The education bureau will notify the subsidy request to the stated bank. In two weeks, a loan will be given to the students. The students need to sign an agreement to return the loan six months after graduation or six months after the student gets a job. They don't need to pay the interest because it is already paid by the government.
Which students will receive the student loan?
Students who are appointed by the government.
Students who have high achievement.
Students who cannot pay tuition.
Students who quit school.
College students.
