Once upon a time, there was a kingdom in Java that was attacked by another kingdom. The King asked his Queen to save her life. Alas! In the middle of the jungle, the enemy killed all her guards. However, the Queen was lucky because she changed herself into a golden snail and survived.                 One day, an old woman saw the snail and took it home. She looked after it. Whenever the old woman was not at home, the snail turned into a human being. She cooked and did the household chores. When the old woman got home, the Queen quickly changed into a snail again. It happened several times and made the old woman curious. One day, the old woman peeped and saw what was going on. She broke in, immediately. She asked, “Why did you change yourself into a snail? ”. The Queen told her what happened. The old woman was surprised to know that the snail was a Queen.                 Later, from the head of the village they discovered that the King had won the battel and he was looking for his wife. Then the village head sent a message to the King telling him that his wife was safe.                 Several days later, the King and his guards came for the Queen. They thanked the villagers for their kindness and brought the old women to their palace.

Ingredients:

3 tbsp olive oil, canola oil or grape seed oil

1 lb russel backing potatoes, peeled and grated, salt and pepper.

 

Method:

1. Heat 3 tbsp of oil in a large frying pan on medium heat.
2. Squeeze out as much moisture as you can from the grated potatoes. It's easier to do this with pottoes ricer. If you don't have it, you can use paper towel to squeeze it.
3. Add the grated potatoes on the hot frying pan, spread them out along the bottom of the pan. Sprinkle some salt and pepper on the potatoes. If they have been fried to golden brown on the bottom. Put them on the serving plate. Serve for 4 people.

The Old Man and the Durian Tree      In a very quiet little village, lived an old man whose age was over 80 years old. He was planting a durian tree when a neighbour observed him. He said, "No, at my age I know I won't. All my life I have been enjoying durians, but never from a tree I have planted before. I wouldn't have had durians if other men haven't done what I'm doing now. I am just trying to pay the other men who have planted durians for me." No wonder he looked so happy.      We should give first and can get something in return. We will not only get what we want but will actually be really happy in the end, because we need to sow first before we can reap.

                There was a little boy who had a bad temper. His father gave him a bag of nails and told him that every time he loses his temper, he must hammer a nail into the fence.

                The first day the boy had driven 37 nails into the fence. Over the next few weeks as he learned to control his anger, the number of nails hammered daily, gradually dwindled down. He discovered it was easier to hold his temper than to drive those nails into the fence. Finally the day came when the boy didn’t lose him temper at all. He told his father about it and the father suggested that the boy should pull out one nail for each day that he was able to hold his temper.

                The days passed and the young boy was finally able to tell his father that all the nails were gone. The father took his son by the hand and led him to the fence. He said “You have done well, my son, but look at the holes in the fence. The fence will never be the same. When you say things in anger, they leave a scar just like this one.”

Youll need:

• 90 ml vegetables oil
• 2 loves of garlic, chopped
• 2 red chilli, finely chopped .
• 2 red pepper, sliced .
• 2 green pepper, sliced
• 200 g or 2 cups grated cheese
• 450 g cooked chicken, shredded

Method:

1. Heat 4 tablespoon of the oil in a large pan and

3. Meanwhile, heat a little oil in a large frying pan and cook the flour tortillas on one side only until they start to puff up. Get aside and keep warm.

4. When the pepper are cooked, add a little more oil to the frying pan, lay one tortilla, uncooked side down in the pan, shatter over some cheese, pepper and chicken and fold over.

5. Cook until the cheese starts to melt when remove from the pan and keep warm.

6. Repeat the remaining tortillas and serve immediately

Main Ingredients: 

• 250 gr cod or any white meat fish
• 125 gr tapioca or corn flour
• 2 tbsp light soya sauce
• Salt and pepper
• 1 tbsp oil (to prevent the dough sticky)
• For type Kapal selam, you need 3 hard boiled eggs slice half

Soup Ingredients: 

• 5 chillies
• 100 gr palm sugar
• 2 tbsp sugar
• Salt and pepper
• 2 tbsp light soya sauce
• 2 tbsp ebi (dried prawn)
• Handful diced cucumber
• 4 tbsp rice vinegar
• 1 tsp tamarind
• 250 ml water

Method
Soup Method 
Boil all soup ingredients into sauce pan 
Serving: 

1. Blend all the ingredients into food processor until the smooth like a dough, you could put splash of water if you need it.
2. Put enough fi sh cake into your hand and put half boiled egg in the middle and  cover it with the dough and put into boiled water until fl oating.
3. Drain all the water, deep fry it and add some of the soup.
