Kalimat nominal adalah kalimat yang terdiri dari subjek dan pelengkap, tanpa kata kerja.
Kalimat nominal menggunakan "to be" sebagai pengganti kata kerja. "To be" contohnya is, am, are, was, were, has, had, be. Contoh : My little brother is very clever.
Kalimat Past Continuous adalah kalimat yang menyatakan kejadian yang sedang berlangsung di masa lalu/lampau.
Untuk rumusnya :
(+) Subject + was/were + V-ing
Contoh : Your brother was eating lunch when you came
(-) Subject + was/were + not + V-ing
Contoh kalimat nominal + verbal past continuous :
(Indonesian) Sepatumu sangat bagus! Adikmu sedang bermain saat kamu membeli sepatu itu.
(English) Your shoes are very nice! Your little brother was playing when you bought the shoes.

A nominal sentence is a sentence that does not have a finite verb, or a verb that expresses action.
Kalimat nominal adalah kalimat yang tidak terdiri dari kata kerja, atau kata kerja yang menunjukkan sebuah aksi melainkan subjek dan pelengkap saja.
Past Continuous Tense Formula for Nominal Sentence
(+) Positive: subject + be(was/were) + complement. Example: Emir was a student.
(-) Negative: subject + be(was/were) + not + complement. Example: Emir was not a student.
(?) Interrogative: Be(was/were) + subject + complement + (?). Example: Was Emir a student?
Whereas, A verbal sentence is a sentence that uses a verb as its predicate to describe an action performed by the subject.
Sedangkan, kalimat verbal adalah kalimat yang kata kerjanya merupakan kata kerja utama (ordinary verb) yang menunjukkan pekerjaan yang dilakukan oleh subjek.
Past Continuous Tense Formula for Verbal Sentence
(+) Positive: subject + be(was/were) + verb + -ing + complement. Example: I was eating yesterday.
(-) Negative: subject + be(was/were) + not + verb + -ing + complement. Example: I was not eating yesterday.
