Malala, a Courageous Girl
Malala Yousafzai is an activist for female education. She is the youngest Nobel Peace Prize winner. She was born in Mingora, Pakistan, on July 12, 1997. In 2009, she started writing a diary about living under Taliban rule. They destroyed schools for girls and prohibited girls from going to schools. She then wrote all about her fears and concerns in her diary. Soon she became very famous in Pakistan and began to talk about the rights of girls to have an education. The Taliban did not like her activity. In October 2012, someone shot Malala in the head and neck. She survived the attack although it took her about three months to recover. Two years after the attack, Malala won the Nobel Peace Prize. Malala’s courageand achievement have become an inspiration for many people.
