Hurricanes are giant, spiraling tropical storms that can pack wind speeds of over 160 miles (257 kilometers) an hour and unleash more than 2.4 trillion gallons (9 trillion liters) of rain a day.
Hurricanes begin as tropical disturbances in warm ocean waters with surface temperatures of least 80 degrees Fahrenheit (26.5 degrees Celcius). These low pressure systems are fed by energy from the warm seas. If a storm achieves wind of 38 miles (61 kilometers) an hour, it becomes known as a tropical depression. A tropical depression becomes a tropical storm, when its sustained wind speeds top 39 miles (63 kilometer) an hour. When a strom’s sustained wind speeds reach 74 miles (119 kilometers) an hour, it becomes a hurricane and earns a category rating of 1 to 5 on the Saffir-Simpson.

                Once upon a time, there lived a Clouds family. Papa Cloud, Mama Cloud, and children Cloud lived quietly in the sky.

                Every morning, the children cloud went to the sky playground to play with the slide. But since there was only slide, they had to take turns on the slide. Lody, the youngest cloud, looked impatient. He could not wait for his turn to come. His brother, Tody, didn’t like his attitude. Suddenly, they were quarrelling. Their white bodies became grey. It meant they were very angry. When the clouds were angry, water usually came out of their bodies. It meant rain for the people on earth.

                “stop it, children! Stop fighting!” Papa cloud said.

                “You can play with the slide in turn. Now, shake hands. Both of you!” order Papa Cloud.

                Lody and Tody shake hands and slowly their colours changed. Their bodies became fair white again. The rain stopped and people on earth could go on their activities again.

What is the writer's intention to write the text?

Penguins are torpedo-shaped, flightless birds that lived in the southern regions of the Earth. Though many people imagine a small, black-and-white animal when they think of penguin, these birds actually come in a variety of sizes, and some are very colorful.

For example, crested penguins spot a crown of yellow feathers. Blushes of orange and yellow mark the necks of emperor and king penguins. What look like bright yellow, bushy eyebrow adorn the heads of some species, such as the Foirdland, Royal, Snares and rock hopper penguin. The macaroni penguin’s name comes from the crest of yellow feather on its head. which look like the 18th – century hats of same name. A light yellow mask covers the face of the yellow-eyed penguin around the eyes.

Mercury and the Woodman

A Woodman was felling a tree on the bank of river, when his axe, glancing off the trunk, flew out of his hands and fell into the water. When he stood by the water's edge was sad by his loss, Mercury  (x)......... and asked him the reason his sad. On leraning what had happened out of pity for his distress, Mercury dived into the river and, bringing up a gloden axe, asked him if  that was the one he had lost. The Woodman replied that it was not, then Mercury dived a second time, and bringing up a silver axe, asked if that was his. 'No, that is not mine either,' said the Woodman. Once more Mercury dived into the river, and brought up the missing axe. The Woodman was overjoyed at recovering his (y)........., and thanked his benefactor warmly.
