    Bakiak is footwear that is made from lightweight wood with a rubber band to allow the foot to slip inside the footwear. The shape is similarto ordinary slip-on sandal. It becomes so common in Indonesia because of its durability and low price, even it is not comfortable to wear.

   Bakiak is actually originated from China. The spread of Chinese people makes bakiak available in almost all entire Southeast Asia. Javanese people usually call it 'teklek' because of its noisy sound when someone walks on it.

    Nowadays, bakiak is not commonly used in daily activity. It usually used as the footwear to do toiletry things. Several people even modified bakiak into a game that can be played by two or more people. They lengthen the Bakiak's length and add more rubber bands for accommodating more people on it. People need to have good coordination with other members on this bakiak to walk. This game is usually played in gathering activities.
