    IPAM (Indonesia Performing Art Marts) is a biennial art event organized in the form of a market, in which global art managers, promoters, agents, producers, scholars and artists interact in various modes and activities with prominent as well as up-and-coming Indonesian performing artists.

    As a nation having a long history in arts and cultural endeavours, Indonesia exude a particularly unique and important global cultural heritage as a result of centuries-old amalgamation of world cultures passing through our archipelago. This has shaped the traditions, beliefs, rites and culture unique of Indonesia that manifest in hundreds of distinct performing art forms. These performing arts forms have been preserved, enhanced, and often in the hands of their luminaries, been translated to new forms transcending traditional boundaries.

    By attending IPAM, global artists, presenters, scholars, managers, promoters, agents, and producers can interact and encourage a cultural exchange between Indonesian Performing Artists and the global communities they represent. Attending IPAM is a step to consider bringing in these exemplary performing artists to a wider, appreciative audience in the world.

    Seen in a larger context, I PAM is part of Indonesia's conscious, ongoing effort to establish its reputation in the flourishing global cultural industry, as well as building a positive image of Indonesia in international forum.

    IPAM is a response to global performing arts community demand for an excellent program. This program will emphasize Indonesian performing a rts' diversity and uniqueness as a vibrant colourful culture from traditional to contemporary.
