The people became poor and hungry. Merlin was worried about England. He made a magic sword and put it into a stone. He told the nobles, “The man who can pull the sword from the stone will become the king of England”. All the nobles wanted to become king and one by one they tried pulling out the sword. They tried and tried, but no one was able to do it. After sometimes, everyone forgot about the sword and the nobles resumed their fights. England was not a a good place to live and people were suffering because they live without a king. No one was happy about it. Meanwhile Merlin watched Arthur grow.
