The question is based on the following passage. How Does Sound Travel? The music we hear, the angry shout from someone on the street, the call from our friends and other sounds near us travel before we could hear them. In the beginning, the sound waves move through each of these mediums by vibrating the molecules in the matter. Next, different molecules arrangement influences the collision between particles. This collision is what mediates the propagation of sound. This is why the disturbance can also be said as another name of sound. Sound travels faster in the water than in the air because the molecules in the water are closely packed rather than in the air. Another factor in affecting on how the sound travels is the stiffness factor of the materials. The stronger the bond between the material's atoms, the more stiff it is, and hence, help propagate sound better.
