Most fast food are loaded with carbohydrates with little and even no fiber. When your digestive system breaks down these foods, the carbs are released as glucose (sugar) into your bloodstream. As a result, your rate of blood sugar increases. Your pancreas responds to the surge of glucose by releasing insulin. Insulin transports sugar throughout your body to cells that need it for energy. Frequently, eating high amounts of carbs can lead to repeated spikes in your blood sugar. Overtime, these insulin spikes may cause your body’s normal insulin response to falter. This increases your risk for weight gaining, insulin resistance, and type-2 diabetes.
People have no clear idea what kind of ingredients of the fast food they eat. When you eat fast food, you not only digest the main protein, but also preservatives, additives, artificial colors, and artificial flavors. These ingredients might be bad for your body.
Although other people usually think that fast food is cheap and practical, you still have to think twice about the amount of carbohydrates and fiber it has, as well as the ingredients inside it. So, eating fast food regularly may bring disastrous effect upon your body.
