Long ago, there lived a king named Prabhu Baka. He had a wealthy kingdom. His tale of glory and gold had spread across the land and was heard by another king called Bandung Bondowoso. Upon hearing tale, Bandung Bondowoso became obsessed. He wanted to conquer Prabhu Baka’s kingdom and take everything for himself. So, he readied his powerful army and launched an attack. Bandung Bondowoso had an army of ginny and it didn’t take him long to win. He killed Prabhu Baka and when he was about to kill every remaining royal bloodline, he saw Roro Jonggrang. Roro Jonggrang was Prabhu Baka’s daughter and she was unbelievably beautiful. Bandung Bondowoso fell in love with her and was determined to make her his wife. He then approached Roro Jonggrang and said, “Will you be my wife?”. Of course, Roro Jonggrang didn't want to. Not only that she barely knew him but he had also just killed her beloved father. On the other hand, Roro Jonggrang didn’t want to be killed either so she thought of a plan. “I will marry you if only you can build me a thousand temple in one night”, she accepted his proposal if he dared to do as she asked him. Bandung who had an army of genies gladly accepted the challenge. He gathered all his genies and ordered them to build a thousand temple to honor Roro Jonggrang. The genies started working and soon the temples were almost completed. Seeing this Roro Jonggrang woke her maids up. She told them to begin pounding rice and to make fire so that the sky would look bright orange as if the sun was coming. Then, she came up to see Bandung Bondowoso and told him that his time was up. She counted the temple and there were only 999 of them. She said to him, “I’m very sorry, you have lost”, but Bandung Bondowoso realized he was being fooled and he was furious about it. “Fine, why don’t you complete the set?” he said. Then, with a snap of his finger Roro Jonggrang was turned into a statue. Choose the possible options of coda for the above passage! Today, the complex where the thousand temples are at is called Roro Jonggrang temple, also known as the Prambanan Temple.
