Soal memerintahkan untuk mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis ungkapan selamat dan harapan dari dialog yang tersedia dan membuat ungkapan yang sudah dianalisis kedalam tabel. Kemudian soal juga memerintahkan untuk menambahkan ungkapan lain terkait ungkapan selamat dan harapan.

Pada dialog pertama, terdapat expression of hope yang diungkapkan oleh Sandi, yaitu "I hope we can find it this time." yang artinya "Aku berharap kita bisa menemukannya saat ini." Kemudian Diana meresponnya dengan mengatakan "yeah. I hope so. Thank you." yang artinya "yeah, aku harap juga begitu. Terima kasih."

Pada dialog kedua, terdapat expression of congratulations yang diungkapkan oleh Ferdi, yaitu "Congratulations! You deserve it." yang artinya "Selamat ya! Kamu pantas untuk menang." Kemudian Alda meresponnya dengan mengatakan "Thank you." yang artinya "Terima kasih."

Pada dialog ketiga, terdapat expression of congratulations yang diungkapkan oleh Nando, yaitu "Happy birthday" yang artinya "Selamat ulang tahun." Kemudian Ryan meresponnya dengan mengatakan "Thanks." yang artinya "Terima kasih."

Pada dialog ketiga juga, terdapat expression of wish yang diungkapkan oleh Nando, yaitu "I wish I had a skateboard like that." yang artinya "Aku berharap aku punya skateboard seperti itu" Kemudian Ryan meresponnya dengan mengatakan "I hope you'll get a skateboard like this on your next birthday." yang artinya "Aku berharap kamu akan mendapatkan skateboard seperti ini di hari ulang tahunmu nanti."
