Sentosa is a small island located a mere one kilometer off the southern coast of Singa pore. It was a strategic naval base for Singapore during the colonial days. Called Pulau Belakang Mati, it was the fortress of Singapore during the British colonial era. Today, Sentosa Island has been transformed into a gigantic tourist playground for pleasure, fun and entertainment. It has a Universal Studios theme park, the largest aquarium in the world, several water parks, sandy beaches, and many other tourist attractions. To get around the island, there are buses, trams, and trains. Best of all, all these modes of transportation are provided free of charge.
