Walter Elias Disney (December 5, 1901 December 15, 1966) was an American animated film producer and animator. He was also the creator of an American-based theme park called Disneyland, and the founder of the highly profitable corporation, now known as The Walt Disney Company.

Disney was born in Chicago to Elias Disney and Flora Call. He was named after his father and after his father's close friend Walter Parr, the minister at St. Paul Congregational Church. In 1906, his family moved to a farm near Marceline, Missouri. The family sould the farm in 1909 and lived in a rented house until 1910, when they moved to Kansas City, Disney was nine years old.

According to the Kansas City, Missouri, Public School District records, Disney began attending the Bention Grammar School in 1911, and continued his formal education there until he graduated on June 8, 1917. During this time, Disney also enrolled in classes at the Kansas City Art Institute. In th fall of 1917, Disney rejoined his family. He left school at the age sixteen and became a volunteer ambulance driver in World War I, after he change his birth certificate to show his year of birth as 1900 in order to be able to enlist in the service. He served as a member of the American Red Cross Ambulance Force in France till 1919.

Hope you're well and had a great holiday. Sorry for the cross-posting. You could ignore this email if your school does not deliver the IGCSE curriculum.

 

Most of you are aware that Cambridge has decided to develop a new qualification for the IGCSE Bahasa Indonesia.

 

The development is ongoing and we would like conduct further research to gain more information from schools i.e. expectations, contents etc. Therefore, I will be conducting a teacher forum for the Bahasa Indonesia teachers (IGCSE level) by next week (I prefer not to do it during Ramadan).

Have we ever wondered how get chocolate? Well, this time we will enter the amazing world of chocolate so we can understand exactly how chocolate is made. Chocolate is taken from a tree called cacao tree. This tree grows in equatorial regions, especially in place such as South America, Africa, and Indonesia. The cacao tree produces a fruit about the size of small pine apple. Inside the fruits are the tree’s seeds. They are also known as coco beans.

Next, the beans are fermented for about a week, dried in the sun. After that, they are shipped to the chocolate maker. The chocolate makers work by roasting the beans to bring out flavor. The beans from different places have different qualities and flavor. So they are often sorted and blended to produce a distinctive mix.

The next process is winnowing. The roasted beans are winnowed to remove the meat nib of the cacao bean from its shell. Then the nibs are blended. The blended bibs are grind to make liquid. The liquid is called chocolate liquor. It tastes bitter.

All seeds contain some amount of fat and cacao beans are not different. However, cacao beans are half fat. It is pure bitter chocolate.
