jika diubah menjadi kalimat pasif menjadi “ books were being read by them in the library ”.

Pada kalimat “ They were reading books in the library ”, tense yang di gunakan adalah past continuous tense, sehingga rumus yang tepat untuk merubah kalimat aktif menjadi pasif adalah “S + be (was/were) being + Verb-3 + (by agent)”. books adalah objek jamak, maka “be “ yang di gunakan adalah “were”. Sehingga jika diubah menjadi kalimat pasif menjadi “ books were being read by them in the library ”.
