Should It be Legal to Sell Organs? First, the kinds of organ sales I want to talk about here are those in which the donors willingly give a certain part of their body and get money in return. And of course these have to take place in white markets. People have contrasting views on this issue. Some say that a person has a right to his/her own body, but I personally believe that legalizing organ sales is not a right thing to do. The expensive price of organs is likely to make the sale of them highly discriminatory. It is believed that a single kidney has a black market price of $20,000. Consequently, the sale of organs will condone the most gross discrimination between rich and poor. The opportunity for those unable to afford to purchase to receive a donated organ will be eliminated. Which family, if prepared to donate the organs of a relative, would decide to decline an ex gratia payment of tens of thousands of pounds? There will not be a two-tier market consisting of sale and donation. The donations will disappear and only the rich will survive. Still linked to the above reason, the very idea of debating whether or not to legalize the sale of human organs is offensive, repugnant, and insane. Has humanity lost its humanity? We all know who are going to be selling their organs, they are who live in poverty. They'll be so desperate for money that they'll sell their own kidneys or other parts of their body. This is just another way for the rich to buy themselves a better life at the expense of the poor. Such a law is dangerous. Since sale of organs will only benefit those who are rich, it shouldn’t be legalized. However, if you think helping save people’s life by giving your organ is good, and indeed it is good, go ahead and give it. But you should expect no money in return. If you do it for money, it is called selling. The writer’s attitude toward organ sales legalization is ….
