Pandas
Pandas are native bears from China. They are also called as great pandas, giant pandas, parti-colored bears, and bamboo bears. Pandas are distinguished from other pandas by their large size and black-and-white coloring. They live in around 20 isolated patches of bamboo forest in six mountain ranges in China's Sichuan, Shaanxi and Gansu provinces.
Pandas have a distinctive black and white coat, with black fur around their eyes and on their ears, muzzle, legs and shoulders. Their coats help them to keep them warm in the cool mountain. The length of adult pandas is around 150cm from nose to rump. Their tails add 10-15 cm. Their shoulder can grow up to 90cm. They can weigh up to 150kg. The males are larger and heavier than the females. They eat bamboo and to eat and to crush bamboo, they use their broad, flat moral teeth and their pseudo thumbs.
The sexual maturity of Pandas is reached within 5.5 – 6.5 years. The gestation takes from 95-160 days. Once they give birth, they usually only give to single young. Their reproductive rate is about 1 cub in 2 years.
