    Once upon a time, there lived a mother with her three sons in Riau. The oldest was Bujang Perotan, the middle child was Bujang Pengail, and the youngest child was Bujang Buta. He was named Bujang Buta because he was blind. The three sons had different personality, but Bujang Buta was the kindest.

    One day, the mother asked her sons to gather firewood from the forest. Bujang Perotan and Bujang Pengail planned to prank Bujang Buta. They left him in the forest and took his stick. Bujang Buta was scared to know that his brothers had left him. He wandered around to exit the forest.

    Suddenly, an item hit him. From its smell, he knew that it was a mango fruit. Bujang Buta decided to eat it because he was hungry. The mango was delicious. Bujang Buta ate it vigorously and accidentally swallowed the seed. However, instead of choking, his eye miraculously opened and he could see. Bujang Buta wasn't really happy because what he saw for the first time were a tiger and a monkey. He was shocked and tried to run, but the tiger and the monkey told him not to be afraid. Instead, they gave him a rope and a stick. The tiger and the monkey gave them for they acknowledged his kindness. They said that he would need it on the journey home.

    On his way, Bujang Buta saw an elephant attacked several people. The elephant fiercely attacked them. It turned out that the people were his brothers, a princess, and her servants. Bujang Buta used the rope and the stick to subdued the elephant. His brothers helped him chase away the elephant.

    After successfully chased away the elephant, his brothers apologized to Bujang Buta for what they had done in the forest. Bujang Buta forgave his brothers. The princess also felt grateful to him and his brothers annd awarded him with gold and jewelry. Bujang Buta and his brothers thanked the princess for her generosity. After that, Bujang Buta lived happily with his brothers and mother.
