Who was the electric iron invented by?

An electric clothes iron is one of the most useful home appliances. It is used for removing creases from clothes. However, do you know who the electric iron was made by?

The electric iron was invented in the 1880s in America when electricity became widely used. The first electric iron was patented by Henry W. Seeley in 1882. His iron was hooked up to an electrical source by detachable wires. The electricity stimulated the iron's internal coils. However, Seeley's irons did not have electric cords like today's electric irons. The irons were heated on a stand.

People at that time thought that it was troublesome to use because the iron heated really slowly but it cooled quickly. So the iron had to be reheated frequently. For that problem, people kept advancing the system of the iron to make it easier to use. Finally, in 1903, the electric cords were directly attached to the irons.
