Sebelum menyusun kalimat menjadi suatu paragraph yang tepat, hal yang paling mudah dilakukan adalah menentukan jenis teksnya. Berdasarkan kalimat-kalimat di atas, jenis teksnya adalah recount yang menceritakan pengalaman berdasarkan urutan waktu. Urutan pertama adalah kalimat ketiga karena pada kalimat tersebut terdapat keterangan waktu “last Lebaran” dan diperkenalkannya tokoh yang ada dalam teks bacaan. Lalu urutan kalimat kedua adalah kalimat pertama karena adanya hubungan antara kalimat keliga dan kalimat pertama yaitu “take a train” (naik kereta) dan “took a taxi to the railway station” (naik taxi ke stasiun kereta). Karena tidak ada pilihan lain yang berututan 3-1 …maka jawaban C adalah jawaban yang tepat yaitu dengan urutan 3-1-8-6-2-5-7-4.
