    If you've been to Belitung Island, perhaps you may have seen the beautiful stones 'batu satam'.

   It is believed that these stones came from outer space. People said these stones are meteorite fragments that fell on the most beautiful beaches of the island Thousands of years ago, a meteor exploded and small pieces that fell to the earth spread to several countries, such as Australia, Czechoslovakia and Belitung Island in Indonesia.

   Batu satam has been embedded in the·ground for years. Since then, the water flow forms beautiful strokes which make these solid black rocks widely used as jewelry such as rings, necklaces, earrings and many more.

    The beauty of these stones has spread all over the world and has become the most wanted souvenirs from Belitung Island.
