Ditanya : x + 2y - 3z = ... ?

Dijawab :

Gunakan permisalan : a = 1/x , b = 1/y , c = 1/z

Maka didapat :

   a + b + c = 2 ... (1)

3a - b + 2c = -1 ... (2)

    a + b - c = 4 ... (3)

 

Eliminasi persamaan (1) dan (3) untuk mencari nilai c : 

 a + b + c = 2 

  a + b - c = 4 

0 + 0 + 2c = -2

               c = -1

Penjumlahan persamaan (1) dan (2), serta subtitusi c = -1 untuk mencari nilai a :

     a + b + c = 2

  3a - b + 2c = -1  +

4a + 0 + 3c = 1

4a + 3(-1) = 1

       4a - 3 = 1

             4a = 1 + 3

             4a = 4

               a = 1

Subtitusi nilai a = 1 dan c = -1 ke persamaan (1)

    a + b + c = 2

1 + b + (-1) = 2

                 b = 2

 

Jika a = 1/x , b = 1/y , c = 1/z

maka x = 1/a , y = 1/b , z = 1/c

x + 2y - 3z = 1/a + 2(1/b) - 3(1/c)

= 1/1 + 2(1/2) - 3(1/(-1))

= 1 + 1 - 3(-1)

= 2 + 3

= 5
