Rice has been the staple in the Indonesian diet for centuries. Indonesians are accustomed to eating rice at every meal time. However,   not many people realise that the intake of rice has a negative impact on   our bodies, which results in health problem. Thus, we need to reconsider   our amount of rice consumption.

Over-consumption of rice can lead to diabetes. Rice contains glucose that is useful to our energy. The insulin in our body will automatically  separate glucose from other substances, which will accumulate into body fat. The problem lies with how we possibly use the energy from the amount of rice that we consume. If we do less physical activities but we consume a large amount of rice per day, we will face a risk of diabetes.

There is no doubt that rice has become a part of our culture. We know that sometimes we cannot eat without rice, but we have to control our consumption of rice to maintain our health.
