Pertanyaan

Thomas Edison was a famous American inventor living around 1847-1931. During his lifetime, he was a hardworking person with strong determination, so he became one of the greatest inventors of all time. As a prolific inventor, he patented more than 1,000 inventions. Among them are the electric light, the phonograph, and the motion-picture camera. These inventions gave rise to giant industries-electric utilities, phonographs, and record companies, and the fIlm industry-thus changing the work and leisure habits of people throughout the world. The period from 1879 to 1900, when Edison produced and perfected most of his devices, has been called the Age of Edison. When Edison died, the U.S. government turned off all electric currents in the country for a minute or two as a tribute to him. It became apparent, however, that the operation of the great electrical distribution systems of the nation could not be interrupted even for a moment without possibly disastrous effects. Within Edison's lifetime, the system that he had pioneered had become essential to the nation's way of life. 29. What lesson can we get from the text? A.
