The Emperor’s New Clothes Once upon a time there lived an emperor who spent all his time trying out new clothes. Two travellers heard about the emperor and his love for clothes. They decided to fool the emperor and make some money. They went to the emperor and introduced themselves as famous tailors from a faraway land. They told the emperor that they would make a special outfit for him that fools wouldn’t be able to see. The emperor readily agreed. The two men received a large sum of money but they only pretended to sew the clothes. Many curious, ministers went to see the special outfit but they saw nothing. They praised the garment fearing they would be called fools. Soon the travelers went to the emperor with their creation. Like the others, the emperor too saw nothing but he didn’t want to admit because he was afraid to be called a fool then he praised the outfit. He wanted the entire town know about the special clothes by conducting a parade. The entire town wanted to see the special outfit. The emperor proud of his clothes marched along the streets. All cheered loudly even though none of them actually saw the clothes. Finally one little girl asked why want the emperor wearing any clothes. Slowly the people started whispering and realized they all had been fooled. The emperor turned red with shame and wanted to punish the cunning travelers but they had already run away. Why didn’t the people admit that they can’t see the cloth? Because...
