National examination is interesting topic to discuss. All people especially students have their own opinion about it. Some of them agree while others disagree on the execution of final examination. National examination has some benefits. It can motivate students to study hard. As you know that many students are lazy nowadays. By having national examination that could motivate them in studying harder, hopefully the quality of education in Indonesian increases. National examination is also used to measure how far students achievement in school and how successful the curriculum is, and also to diagnose the quality of the education in primary and high schools.

On the other hand, some students disagree with the national examination. They say that national examination can make them depressed since they are afraid of being failed in the examination. They also say that the quality of education does not just depend on the national exam. Furthermore, national exam does not measure the students’ competence throughout the semester.

In fact, the national examination can still be useful as an instrument to evaluate or detect the level of students cognitive competence in several subjects, on a national scale.
