Kalimat "I ____ a cake to your house last night" merupakan kalimat dengan bentuk Simple Past Tense karena menjelaskan kejadian yang terjadi di waktu lampau (last night). Untuk menyusun kalimat bentuk ini menggunakan verb 2. Ruumus yang digunakan adalah: (+) S + verb 2 + O. (-) S + didn't + verb 1 + O (?) Did + S + verb 1 + O +? Bagian rumpang pada kalimat tersebut, harus diisi dengan verb 2 yaitu 'brought'. Kata 'brought' adalah verb 2 dari 'bring' membawa.
