Langkah-langkah mengubah kalimat langsung menjadi kalimat tidak langsung. 1. letakkan reporter speech di awal kalimat yaitu "My brother said". 2. Tambahkan 'that' . 3. Tambahkan subjek yaitu 'I' diubah menjadi 'he'. 4. Tambahkan kata karja kedua (V2) yaitu 'woke up'. 5. Tambahkan kata 'early'. Berdasarkan langkah-langkah tersebut, diperoleh kalimat tidak langsung : My brother said that he woke up early. (Ibuku berkata bahwa dia bangun lebih awal).
