A well-known Spanish footballer playing for the English club Chelsea and Spain's national team is Francesco Fabregas, usually called Cesc. He was born May 4th, 1987. He plays mainly as a winger, but also as a second striker on some occasions. He started as a trainee in his career with Barcelona at the age of sixteen and he was signed by Premier League side Arsenal in September 2003. Following injuries to key midf1elders in the 2004-2005 season, he went on to establish himself as Arsenal's starting central midf1elder, and fmally he was appointed as captain. He broke several of the club's records, earning a reputation as one of the best young players in hisposition. In 2011, Fabregas returned to Barcelona. The Catalan club signed the midf1elder for an initial fee of £35 million, with a further £5 million in variables, on August 151th, 2011.
